Biography:

My name is Lo Pham (full name: Pham Khong-Lo). I was born in France on the 8th of February, 1973, from Vietnamese parents. I come from an artistic and intellectual background. My mother (Le Khac Thanh-Hoai) is a music composer and my father (Pham Cong-Thien) is a well-known Vietnamese writer and philosopher, a former Zen monk in Vietnam. My presumed godfather is Henry Miller, the famous American writer, an old friend of my father that he met during his university studies in Yale and Columbia. I've inherited from my parents a deep interest in arts, spirituality and philosophy, as well as simple values of tolerance and compassion.

I've grown up in a large family, among 3 brothers and 1 sister, most of them younger than I am. I also have 3 half-sisters that I love very much but that I see very rarely as they live in Australia and America. A a consequence of the Vietnam War, my family has been disseminated all over the world.

I discovered my vocation for film-making very early when I was 4 years old at pre-school, the day I drew my first storyboard after watching a cartoon with the class. Since then, I have never stop drawing and inventing stories, mainly fantastic tales filled with mysterious characters in strange settings. "The marvelous is always beautiful. Anything marvelous is beautiful, in fact only the marvelous is beautiful." as Andre Breton once said. Until this day, I've written more than 30 synopsis and treatments and developed dozens of scripts for short and long-length feature films. I have a double education background in Business School (Master in Management) and in Film School (with a specialization in directing). After having initiated and managed many creative and innovative projects in the fields of communication, design and fashion for which I won several prestigious prizes and awards, I have been distinguished by the University of Aarhus as one of the 10 most innovative young creators and entrepreneurs in Europe, according to extensive researchs and studies conducted in 17 European countries.

I'm devoting today all my time and energy to my passion for cinema and film-making, with the purpose of directing my first long-length feature film in the near future. I'm currently working on two parallel film projects: "The Rainbow Body", a supernatural inquiry into the Mind-Body relationship and the mystery of life after death, and "The Tale of Kieu", a historical drama based in Vietnam, adapted from a masterpiece of Vietnamese literature. I'm also finishing the post-production of "Praying With One Heart", a short fiction/documentary about the religious oppression in Vietnam during the war, and am working on another short film, "Escape from Reality" and some experimental videos.

I'm now living and traveling between Paris, Los Angeles, Houston and Vietnam, accompanied everywhere by my life partner, Rafaele, and my little son, Karuna.
