outline:
The sci-fi film follows a multi-layer narrative structure, with cross-over stories interwoven. Jumping from one plane of existence to another, the film charts the ups and downs of the adventurous life of one man evolving in several parallel universes at the same time. The film covers several philosophical topics such as the power of choice and free will, and the notion of responsibility regarding the consequences of all our actions and thoughts.
Pitch/synopsis:
In a futuristic imaginary world, men have the unconscious capacity to exist on several universes at the same time. Every time they profoundly think and concentrate on one possible choice they can make, they automatically create a new parallel universe in which evolves one of their avatars, a perfect human replica of who they are, living an autonomous life in another realm of existence. The mecanism of manifestation is implacable. Every time the mind intensely focusses its attention into one given hypothesis, it creates spontaneously some kind of physico-psychic energy that propulses itself into the void of the cosmos to give birth to a new parallel universe. In each universe thus newly created, human avatars pursue their own life, quite different from each other's, depending on the choices they originate from.
Although all human avatars are telepathically linked to each other and can feel unconsciously what others feel, they all believe to be absolutely unique. However, they are only emanations of one single person ("The original human"). In a similar way, all other beings they can see around them are themselves emanations of persons whose parallel universes interpenetrate each other.
Traveling from one parallel universe to the other, the film (a cosmic epic) follows the extraordinary adventures of a young candid man looking for happiness, Axel Cruz, and all his human avatars. Discovering by accident a temporal breach, Axel Cruz will explore every different destiny followed by his avatars, confronting himself to what his life could have been… For the better or for the worse...
