Sci-fi trilogy of 3 episodes.

"The Mind Quest" is a postmodern sci-fi film, taking place in a very distant future, in a non-technological world, extremely evolved, where the power of the mind is more important than the power of machines, contrary to what is depicted in most sci-fi films.

The film illustrates each step of the hero's journey, from his departure (the call for adventure) and his initiation to his returning (to share his boon with others), putting the emphasis not only on his outer accomplishments but on the way the hero's mind is evolving at every step of his journey. The boon is not material or some powerful magical objects (in many myths, it is something transcendent like the elixir of life itself, or a plant that supplies immortality, or the holy grail), the boon is spiritual. In this film, the goal of the quest is only genuinely spiritual. The hero has nothing to gain materially or in terms of honor and glory. He is looking only for ultimate spiritual achievement, the acquisition of spiritual powers and aptitudes that will also increase his capacity to help others spiritually.

In the film, the hero's quest can be divided into 3 main phases of development:

1 - the discovery and acknowledgement of his own potential of awakening, of his own magic; the commitment to the quest, his departure;

2 - his struggle for actualizing his potential, a series of tests, tasks, or deals that the hero must undergo to begin the transformation of his mind;

3 - the awakening, the apotheosis, the acquisition of the ultimate knowledge about his own reality and his returning to share it with others.

Each of these phases are symbolised metaphorically by one of the episodes of the trilogy, following a narrative structure centered around the main hero.

"The Magician"

Pitch/synopsis:

Planet Earth, in a very distant future. Computers and heavy machinery have become obsolete. All technologies have been progressively replaced by mental processes discovered by scientists and neurologists doing advanced researchs on the functioning of the human mind. New applications have been developed and new disciplines and sciences have emerged. Elyos de Jint, known as "The Magician", is one of the most brilliant scientists of the planet, the inventor of many revolutionary applications, such as the 'eye-to-eye high speed connection' or the 'telepathic download". His last works, highly coveted, are the object of attention of all research laboratories in the world. Therefore, when he suddenly decides to give up all his researchs to go to meditate in a solitary place, he provokes unvoluntarily a real cataclysm. Several research laboratories in competition with each other and controlled by powerful multinationals are persuaded that Elyos de Jint is hiding the results of his last researchs, a secret application that can change the face of the world. Determined to put the grab on it and exploit it commercially, each laboratory recruits an elite team of mercenaries, following the orders of ruthless, avid multinationals. Their mission: localizing Elyos de Jint and bringing him back to them, dead or alive. Technically speaking, they only need his physical brain to be able to retrieve all information it contains. A race against time starts, each team of mercenaries fighting violently against each other. In the meantime, Elyos de Jint, who is not aware of anything, meditate quietly in his cave...
